Fatal Crash on Muskogee Turnpike Claims Life of Baylor Butler

On March 24, 2025, a multi-vehicle crash occurred on the Muskogee Turnpike near Porter, Oklahoma, resulting in the deaths of two individuals, including Baylor Butler, a 31-year-old resident of Muskogee. The incident took place at approximately 4:30 a.m. near the 17-mile marker, involving a 2013 Ford Fusion and a 1999 Ford F-450. Butler, a passenger in the Ford Fusion, was pronounced dead at the scene alongside another passenger, Stevie Ray Carter, 26, of Gore. The driver of the Fusion, Johnnie Dourssette, 22, of Muskogee, was transported to a Tulsa hospital in critical condition. The driver of the F-450 was not injured.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol is currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash. As of March 31, 2025, no specific cause has been determined, and the investigation remains ongoing. The Muskogee Turnpike was closed for several hours following the incident, impacting traffic between Coweta and Muskogee.
