Douglas Richer Fatal Hit-and-Run in Worth, Illinois: March 24, 2025 Road Rage Incident

On March 24, 2025, at approximately 6:20 p.m., a fatal hit-and-run crash occurred in the 6500-block of West 115th Street in Worth, Illinois. The incident involved 46-year-old Douglas Richer of Worth, who was struck by a dark-colored BMW sedan driven by 27-year-old Abdalla Shaban, also of Worth. According to police reports, the collision stemmed from a road rage altercation between Shaban and Richer’s adult son, which escalated when Richer intervened on foot.

Richer was pronounced dead at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn after sustaining fatal injuries. Shaban fled the scene but was apprehended shortly afterward at his residence on South Natchez Avenue. Witnesses tracked the vehicle and alerted authorities, leading to Shaban’s arrest.
