Aronde Odom Killed in Springfield Hit-and-Run: Driver Charged

On March 27, 2025, Aronde Odom, a 30-year-old resident of Fall River, was killed in a hit-and-run accident in Springfield, Massachusetts. The incident occurred around 5:15 p.m. in the Indian Orchard neighborhood, where Odom was walking his bike across the intersection of Parker and Verge Streets. Springfield Police Department officers responded to the scene and found a vehicle parked on the roadside with a bicycle tire lodged underneath, though the driver had already fled.

The following day, Carlos Reyes turned himself in to the Springfield Police Department. On March 31, Reyes was arraigned in Springfield District Court and charged with leaving the scene of a fatal crash. He is currently being held on $250,000 bail. Friends of Odom, known in the Fall River skateboarding community, recall him as a positive influence who enjoyed riding his fixed-gear bike.
