Kevin Curry Identified as Victim in Fatal Interstate 55 Crash

On March 20, 2025, a fatal accident claimed the life of Kevin L. Curry Jr., a 28-year-old resident of Detroit, on Interstate 55 near Shirley, Illinois. McLean County Coroner Kathy Yoder reported that Curry was pronounced deceased at 11:11 a.m. after being struck by a pickup truck while attempting to cross the southbound lanes near mile marker 154. According to the coroner’s preliminary autopsy, the cause of death was multiple blunt force injuries sustained during the collision. The incident was reported to the coroner’s office at approximately 10:53 a.m., and toxicology results are still pending as authorities continue their investigation.
